40-year-old female patient: 3 months after a mini-abdominoplasty, liposuction of the hips and lower back, and a labiaplasty procedure.

The abdomen was tightened by repairing her abdominal muscles through a smaller incision in her underwear line. The hips and waist were treated with liposuction to give her a more hourglass appearance. Finally, a labiaplasty was added (sorry no pictures ) to finish off her mommy makeover.

Mini Abdominoplasty

A great procedure

While full abdominoplasties are more common than mini abdominoplasties, mini abdominoplasties are a great procedure for a patient who loose abdominal wall but does not have a lot of extra skin or fat in the front of the abdomen. In these patients, because not a lot of extra skin needs to be removed, a very small incision can be placed just above the pubic bone and the abdominal wall can be tighted using special instruments. Recovery is unfortunately the same as with a full as we are affecting the abdominal muscles, but the result can be amazing with just a minimal scar.

Sequential Approach

Provide volume where needed
Tighten skin of the face, neck, upper and lower eyelids, and temple if needed
Rejuvenate the skin with a skin rejuvenating BBL and Profractional lasers

After re-establishing the platform with volume replacement and surgical lifting, the rejuvenation process will generally require laser skin treatments to improve the quality of the skin. This generally implies the reduction of sun spots, spider veins, texture problems, and fine lines.

Awake Anesthesia

My patients choose between having their facelift procedures in the office or at the surgery center. Office procedures are performed in my Loudoun, Virginia office outside of Leesburg. Office procedures are performed with the patient awake but the patient takes valium and a oral pain medication followed by injection anesthesia. Surgery center patients go to Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center where the procedure is performed with the patient asleep.
