Facial Rejuvenation

Natural is Important

My facial rejuvenation technique and philosophy center around providing my patients with natural appearing results by providing patients with more volume to the face particularly in the places where it has been lost and lifting tissue where it is necessary. I have a saying – ” I would much rather appear old gracefully than to appear bizarre at the hands of a plastic surgeon”. Natural is important.

My technique in general provides volume replacement using your own fat by fat transfer or by using off-the-shelf fillers like juvederm, voluma, sculptra, or bellafill. Skin tightening most often includes a mini-facelift for which I am world reknown, an upper blepharoplasty, and a lower blepharoplasty. Some patients will also benefit from a brow lift or a neck lift depending on the degree of facial aging.

Sequential Approach

Provide volume where needed tighten skin of the face, neck, upper and lower eyelids, and temple if needed. Rejuvenate the skin with a skin rejuvenating BBL and Profractional lasers

After re-establishing the platform with volume replacement and surgical lifting, the rejuvenation process will generally require laser skin treatments to improve the quality of the skin. This generally implies the reduction of sun spots, spider veins, texture problems, and fine lines.

Blepharoplasty

Upper and Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Upper and Lower eyelid blepharoplasty describes the surgical rejuvenation of the upper and lower eyelids:

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to remove the extra skin and heavy appearance of the upper eyelids. As we age, the constant movement, sun exposure, and falling of the forehead brow skin contribute to the appearance that the upper eyelids are closed off and heavy. Complete treatment targets all of these factors but most patients can benefit from addressing one or two of the factors. Complete treatment would include:

  1. Upper eyelid surgery – to remove extra skin and the fat bags behind the skin
  2. Brow or temple lift
  3. Botox to treat the crows feet lines
  4. Skin laser include a BBL, Micropeel, and/or Profractional to address skin discoloration and texture

Lower eyelid blepharoplasty

Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to remove the extra skin and fat bags behind the lower eyelids. Another goal is to elevate the cheek fat back up to and hide the orbital socket outline. While a third goal is to rejuvenate the discoloration and textural issues of the lower eyelid. Complete treatment targets all of these factors but most patients can benefit from addressing one or two of the factors. Complete treatment would include:

  1. Volume replacement with fillers or fat transfer- to camouflage the orbital bone ( eye socket ) outline as the cheek falls
  2. Lower eyelid surgery – to remove extra skin and the fat bags behind the skin
  3. Botox to treat the crows feet lines
  4. Skin laser include a BBL, Micropeel, and/or Profractional to address skin discoloration and texture
