What Are The Benefits of Micro Laser Peel for Skin Rejuvenation?5 min read

MicroLaser Peels are a minimally invasive skin treatment with a plethora of benefits. Non-ablative micro laser peels use laser energy to heat the surface layer of the skin, stimulating collagen production and encouraging new cell growth while minimizing damage. This helps to reduce sunspots, wrinkles, and acne scars. The MicroLaser Peel procedure is known for its quick recovery time of only a few days and also requires fewer aftercare treatments compared to other forms of resurfacing. Patients may also enjoy rejuvenated skin without the need for extended downtime associated with traditional peels for recovering from treatment

How Does the MicroLaser Peel Work?

In order to address surface texture and pigmentation (i.e. pores, fine lines, sun spots), the MicroLaser Peel removes the epidermis layer, whereas with the ProFractional, collagen remodeling is stimulated in the dermis layer, which addresses deeper textural issues such as wrinkles and acne scarring.

MicroLaser Peels remove very thin layers of skin by scanning a beam of light over the treatment area. When the top layer is removed, some damaged cells can be eliminated, resulting in a tired, aged appearance. During healing, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. It leads to healthier-looking skin, often with fewer wrinkles and improved color evenness. In many cases, patients report that their skin went from looking tired to looking vibrant after receiving the treatment

What is the Difference Between MircoLaser Peel and Laser Skin Resurfacing?

As an alternative to microdermabrasion or chemical peels, the MicroLaser Peel is more effective at rejuvenating the skin and considerably different from them. Aside from being less invasive than Laser Skin Resurfacing, it also has a significantly shorter recovery time than Laser Skin Resurfacing. Essentially, the MicroLaser Peel can be considered to be an intermediate step between microdermabrasion and Laser Skin Resurfacing.

In the treatment of severely sun-damaged skin with deep wrinkles and textural changes, laser skin resurfacing is one of the most popular procedures that is used to resurface the skin.  In addition to treating scars, including acne scars, this technique has also been successfully used in treating psoriasis.  A MicroLaser Peel is another procedure that utilizes a YAG Erbium laser, but unlike the more invasive Laser Skin Resurfacing procedure, the YAG Erbium laser is not applied at the same depth as it is in the MicroLaser Peel.  There is no difference between the two technologies, so the results of both are the same, but the recovery time for MicroLaser Peel is much shorter in comparison to many patients thanks to the technology.

Who Should Consider Micro Laser Peel Treatment?

The MicroLaser Peel is an ideal treatment if you are looking for more than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels and you do not have much time for a prolonged healing process. This is also an ideal treatment if you are experiencing the following issues:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Pigmentation concerns
  • Rough skin texture
  • Acne scarring
  • Sunspots
  • Freckles
  • Keratoses
  • Uneven Skin Tone

Which Body Areas Can Be Treated?

There are many applications for a microlaser peel, from the treatment of face and neck wrinkles to the treatment of brown spots caused by sun damage, keratosis, and other skin pigment abnormalities.

How Many MicroLaser Peel Treatments Will I Need?

It is possible to achieve excellent results with just one treatment; however, the number of treatments required may vary from patient to patient depending on the individual case. Most patients achieve their goals after receiving a series of 2-3 treatment sessions spaced 2-3 months apart. The procedure usually takes between 15 minutes and 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area that needs to be treated.

What Results Can I Expect?

By using a MicroLaser Peel, you will be able to remove a very thin layer of skin from the skin in order to improve fine lines, pigmentation, tone, and texture. A fresh layer of skin cells is formed as the skin heals and resurfaces the treated area as new cells grow. As a result of the procedure, your skin will appear healthier-looking, with fewer wrinkles and more even in color. Due to the fact that it can be administered with a high degree of precision, it provides superior results. There are a number of ways to perform the MicroLaser Peel, including as a single treatment and in a series.

What Can I Do to Prolong the Results?

In general, it takes between two and four days for patients to heal from laser treatments; however, deeper laser treatments can extend that time by another two to four days. Side effects largely include red, sensitive skin, similar to a bad sunburn. After 3 days or so, your symptoms will begin to subside and can easily be concealed by makeup.

It is strongly recommended that a program of home skin care be undertaken to further any gains made with the laser treatment. A pre-conditioning skin care program with topical products is mandatory prior to undergoing a deeper MicroLaser Peel.
