Wrinkles. They’re inevitable. As we age, our skin ages too, and wrinkles form. Fortunately, if we take care of our skin properly, we can improve our complexion, decrease wrinkles, and look younger!

Most customers of anti-age wrinkle cream are in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. But in reality, dermatologists recommend anyone over the age of 20 to start incorporating anti-age wrinkle cream in their skin routine.

Why Start Now?

Caring for our skin is basic hygiene, but proper facial skin care extends beyond just soap and water. Proper facial skin care should aim to protect the skin from as much damage as possible. So taking preventative measures to keep your skin healthy at a younger age will benefit you in the long run. Less damage = less obvious signs of aging. Simple!

So no matter your age, it’s important to start taking care of your skin now.

Wrinkle Cream Best Ingredients

Of course, wrinkle cream is only as good as the ingredients inside. Regardless of skin type, the best ingredients to look for to ensure healthy, moisturized, nutrient-rich skin are:

Retinol: Aka, Vitamin A1, stimulates the production of new skin cells, helps fade dark spots, and helps with hormonal changes.

Hyaluronic acid: retains water to keep connective tissue hydrated and moist to stop wrinkles from forming.

Plant-based stem cells: to help keep skin firm and smooth using antioxidants.

Resveratrol: an antimicrobial substance that helps anti-aging by helping collagen health.

Glycolic acid: exfoliates the skin while helping decrease wrinkles, discoloration, and fine lines.

Consider Your Skin Type

Other things to keep in mind when wrinkle cream shopping are your skin type: if you tend to have dry skin, keeping your face moisturized will be incredibly beneficial in the long run. This means incorporating eye creams, serums, and moisturizers will help keep your skin healthy. If you have oily skin, a retinol-based cream will help reduce pimples and blackheads.

Day Cream and Night Cream

While it’s important to use skincare during the day and nighttime, keep in mind that the most common differences between day/night formulas are that day creams are generally lighter (if they weren’t, wearing cream and makeup would feel like a mask), while nighttime creams are thicker (since a clean face and sleep time allow the cream to take skin spotlight).

Sunscreen + Wrinkle Cream = Happy Skin!

You’ve probably heard it before, but here it is again: Use sunscreen! In the world of skin care, this point cannot be stressed enough. Sunscreen is the basic line of defense to healthy skin. The sun’s UV lights penetrates the skin, which not only creates those pesky fine lines, wrinkles, and spots, but can also trigger dangerous skin disorders. Sun burns weaken skin, so avoiding even the slightest sunburn can help keep your skin looking healthy and young.

Fortunately, you don’t have to avoid tanning entirely in order to keep your skin healthy. Using a sunscreen with a minimum of 30 SPF will still give you a sun-kissed look without compromising your skin to dangerous UBV rays. Keep your skin damage to a minimum by using sunscreen.

FUN FACT: Did you know that cotton clothing offers nearly zero protection against UV rays? It's important to be liberal with your sunscreen, even under clothing, for the best protection!
