We have made it through Halloween, and the holidays are quickly approaching. Holiday parties, family gatherings, and the Christmas card photo-op make for a lot of socializing and selfies. Botox Away Wrinkles
Botox is a very popular treatment at this time of year. Botox around your face can help reduce wrinkles and frown lines; firm up marionette lines; and, because it freezes the muscles in your face, it can help with future wrinkles.
You won’t see results immediately: expect to see smoother skin 3 – 5 days after. The effects should last around 4 months, so perfect for the holiday season. There may be some swelling and bruising around the injection site, but they will be long gone before party season.
Fillers For Fuller Faces
Facial fillers are a great way to improve sagging, aged skin and can take years off your face. They are injected into areas of your face, such as your cheeks, around your mouthline, your forehead and chin. Fillers work by filling in the wrinkles and creases. This is different to Botox which freezes the muscles. For a full face makeover, consider having a Liquid Facelift which combines Botox, fillers, and a lip augmentation to rejuvenate tired features and wrinkles and gives you a lovely, plump pout.
Aesthetica uses a number of filler products for different areas of the face:
- Voluma – is great for lifting the cheek area and contours the mid-face section. It can last up to 2 years.
- Juvederm – this is the most commonly used filler and is used to plump lips, fill in under-eye hollows and the area between nose and mouth. It last for around 9 months to a year.
- Radiesse – works great on mild to moderate wrinkles and lasts for up to a year.
- Sculptra – this is a filler for moderate to severe wrinkles or people who have a gaunt looking face. It can last up to 2 years but it takes around 6 weeks to see the full effect.
- Belotero Balance – another filler for moderate wrinkles. This works on the temple, between nose and mouth folds and other areas where wrinkles and creases exist. It lasts around 6 months.
All of the above products are FDA approved and are injected at Aesthetica by professional, licensed technicians. During an initial consultation you will be asked what areas you want treated, and your technician will suggest options and present you with a plan of action. Most fillers have instant results so you should be able to head to parties days after – just wait for swelling and possible bruising to go down.
Lip Augmentation For The Perfect Pout
As we age, our lips lose their plumpness, and wrinkles appear around the edge of our mouth that can give a pursed, sour look. Lip augmentation is a procedure that involves fillers injected into the lip area to help provide volume and smooth out wrinkles.
The fillers used at Aesthetica are made from hyaluronic acid based which is naturally found in our bodies and FDA approved. The effects last around 6 months. Your lip area is numbed before the injections for comfort. Your lips will swell up for up to 24 hours after the injections, so don’t arrange to have this done the day of a big event. Once the swelling goes down all you need to think about is lipstick color and how great you will look in all the holiday photos.

CoolSculpting Unwanted Fat
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical method of fat reduction. It freezes the fat cells which are then eliminated naturally from the body. It is perfect for reshaping your waist line, reducing the fat bump on thighs, and banishing the double chin. You should start to see results 3 weeks after your treatment, but it can take 1 – 3 months to get the full effects. You may also need multiple treatments.
Microneedling For Your Holiday Glow
Do you want to have a fresher, younger looking complexion? If so, Microneedling may be the right treatment for you. It works by creating tiny puncture marks over your face. As they begin to heal, your collagen production levels increase providing fuller, plumper skin and a brighter complexion. This is definitely not something to do just before a big event. You will have bruising and swelling, and the skin will need time to heal. Full results can be seen 1 -2 months after treatment.
MiraDry For Confident Celebrating
Do you suffer from sweaty armpits even in the depths of winter? Does your wardrobe consist of mostly black and dark clothing? Do you prefer to dance with your arms firmly by your side for fear of showing off sweat patches? If so, miraDry may be the perfect treatment for you.
This is a non-surgical treatment that takes around a hour to perform. The armpit area is numbed and marked out first to help know where to place the machine and so that you are as comfortable as possible. Then the miraDry device is passed over your armpit, and electromagnetic energy eliminates sweat glands. One treatment will make a huge difference, but it is recommended you have another one 3 months later. It can reduce sweating by as much as 80%.
BBL - BroadBand Light Therapy
BBL is another non-surgical treatment that brightens skin and reduces redness and sun damage. It also makes skin look smoother and younger. An added bonus is it can also boost collagen production which creates plumper, younger looking faces.
A topical analgesic is applied to your face and you are given goggles to protect your eyes from the bright light. Then the machine is moved over your skin sending a laser of light that releases energy to ignite collagen production. It takes around an hour to perform, and you should see results within 1-3 weeks. This works best when having multiple treatments.
