Most “Worth it” and Most Predicted Surgeries of 2020
Move aside psychics and fortune tellers everywhere-there’s a new predictor of the future in town! The Aesthetic Society has released a study detailing its predictions on what the most popular plastic surgeries will be in 2020. Another information guru of the cosmetic enhancement world, RealSelf, conducted a survey to discover which plastic surgery left its patients feeling most satisfied with the results.
The answers to both of these questions may surprise you, and they just might give you that boost of confidence you need to finally talk to your doctor about that surgery you’ve been dying to get, or reassure you that you’re not alone in going to a doctor for a little help in reaching your aesthetic goals.
The Most Popular Plastic Surgeries in 2020 Will Be...
First of all, the Aesthetic society’s research revealed that facelifts will be making a comeback, and mini-facelifts will continue taking the world by storm in 2020. Doctors worldwide are noting the uptake in requests for facelifts in an ever-expanding clientele base that is getting younger and younger. Facelifts are one of the longest-lasting, most effective, ways to rejuvenate the face, and are beginning to be recommended as a proactive, rather than reactive, treatment to prevent aging. When performed by a qualified, board-certified plastic surgeon, a facelift produces an organic and naturally youthful aesthetic that is almost unparalleled.
Injectables and Lasers: Non-Invasive Facial Rejuvination
As technology advances, more and more options are coming into the plastic surgery market to address any and all aesthetic issues, including skin rejuvenation, fat removal, and so much more. Injectables address issues beneath the surface and add volume without major surgery, and thus are rising in popularity.
Move Over Mamas for the Daddy-Do-Over!
The hashtag #DadBod is beginning to appear on social media everywhere, so it is no surprise to hear that plastic surgeons have developed the male counterpart to a mommy makeover: The Daddy-Do-Over! This all-encompassing term includes surgeries such as liposuction in the abdominal and chest area, muscle stimulation, and gynecomastia (addressing the “man boob” problem). These options allow more and more men to truly be confident as they realize that plastic surgery is not just for women!
Natural-Looking Plastic Surgery
While doctors are still experiencing clients bringing pictures of Kyle Jenner’s lips or Kim Kardashian’s derriere into an initial consultation, there is definitely an uptake in requests for a more natural look. Clients are realizing they’d rather simply enhance the amazing natural features they already have by bringing them to light and adding definition; this is what the best doctors like Dr. Phillip Chang have been encouraging all along.
The Most Popular Plastic Surgery: And the Oscar Goes To...
RealSelf’s indepth poll of over 600 cosmetic enhancement procedures revealed two categories that were highly rated, with over 99% of patients reporting complete satisfaction with their results. Here’s what they found:
One of the top contenders for customer satisfaction is facial treatments and injectables, including Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, as well as lip fillers and non-surgical nose jobs! Injectables and filler related treatments took up over half of the non-surgical treatments that made the “worth-it” list!
Breast Augmentation & Other Breast Surgeries
Out of the 37 surgical procedures that earned a spot on the Most Worth It list, breast augmentation, breast lifts, and other breast-related surgeries took 14 places. Breast augmentation, breast reduction, and gynecomastia (male breast reduction) were all rated at 98% worth it.
The survey also revealed that over one-third of American adults are considering receiving plastic surgery in the next 12 months.
