Acne is a serious struggle for so many people. From teens to adults, there are over 60,000,000 cases of acne every year! As if dealing with acne and breakouts wasn’t enough, add acne scarring to the mix, and those dreams of clean and clear skin can seem like, well, exactly that, a dream. Many of us have tried invasive skincare products promising the world but delivering results far from it. Some even leave your skin worse than before. Maybe pills are the answer? Not if you want to deal with the headache of side effects that tend to accompany them. BBL and Microneedling may be just what you are looking for!

What is BBL?

BroadBand Light, or BBL, uses different lightwaves to target and eliminate the bacteria on your skin that causes acne. It can also reduce the redness that often accompanies acne and stimulates collagen production to reduce and soften the appearance of acne scars. An ultrasound jelly will be applied to your face during the treatment, followed by using the BBL device. This will pulse light across your face targeting your specific problem areas and needs. The light pulses will feel warm, and a little bit like a rubber band snap with each pulse. There is no downtime for BBL. Your skin may appear a bit pinkish immediately following the treatment, but makeup and your regular skincare products can be applied immediately after if desired.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is another excellent option for acne treatment offered here at Aesthetica. Microneedling is especially effective for getting rid of stubborn scarring left behind by certain types of severe acne. During this treatment, tiny needles are used to prick the skin, causing microscopic wounds. This causes an increase in collagen production as the skin heals itself, leaving you with smoother, softer, scar-free skin. Following a Microneedling treatment, the skin may appear red or inflamed. This typically goes away in just a couple of days. We suggest that you avoid direct sunlight, harsh exfoliants, and alcohol-based skin products for the first few days.

What is Best For Me?

One or a combination of these treatments may be your answer to the clean, clear, and flawless skin you’ve always wanted. Aesthetica offers both BBL and Microneedling treatments designed and personalized to meet your needs and skin goals. We suggest at least 6 treatments. This will ensure you get the best and most dramatic results. It’s time to get out and get glowing with the beautiful skin you deserve!
