So you’ve had enough of your excessive sweating interfering with your life. You’ve decided to take charge and make a change. You’ve decided you WILL NOT let underarm sweat get in the way of living your best life! MiraDry is a non-invasive treatment used to reduce any underarm sweat and odor you might experience drastically. It uses “microwave” technology to safely, effectively, and permanently target and eliminate sweat and odor glands from the armpits. You decided miraDry is right for you! Now what? You may be wondering what to expect after you had your miraDry treatment. What is your road to dry underarms going to look like? Here are the answers to those questions you might have.

How Long Does miraDry Last?

MiraDry lasts forever! Once the sweat glands have been removed they are permanently gone. Sweat glands will not return or grow back. Like all medical procedures, results may vary person to person but most people who have used miraDry experience about an 82% reduction in underarm sweat.

How Long Does miraDry Swelling Last?

You may experience some redness and swelling after your miraDry treatment. Mild pain and achiness is also normal. These side effects can last from several days up to a few weeks. However, most patients are able to return to normal activities immediately.

How Long Should You Ice After miraDry Treatment?

After your miraDry treatment, you should ice the affected area using an ice pack or frozen water bottle. Be sure the ice pack or water bottle is wrapped in a thin cloth or towel to avoid frostbite. You should ice 20 minutes on 20 minutes off for the next 48 hours to reduce swelling.

Does miraDry Stop Odor?

Yes! Patients report experiencing an average of 89% odor reduction! Underarm odor is created when fluid from the sweat glands located in your armpits reacts with the bacteria on your skin. Because miraDry removes the sweat glands, the bacteria does not have the opportunity to flourish as it would in a moist environment, removing the opportunity for odor to develop. The overall number of sweat glands is significantly lowered post miraDry treatment as well, dramatically reducing the fluid released from sweat glands to begin with.

Do I Need to Moisturize my Skin after miraDry?

You don’t need to but, you may use aquaphor or petroleum jelly to soothe any discomfort or irritation. If blistering occurs, be sure to use one of the previously stated options or an over the counter antibiotic ointment to speed up the recovery process. You should avoid using any deodorant or antiperspirant for 2 weeks. You will need to keep the area clean by using a gentle liquid soap and water.

Does miraDry Itch After?

No, miraDry does not cause itchiness post treatment! If you experience iching, contact your beautician.

Does miraDry Burn After?

No, burning is not a side effect of miraDry. If you experience any kind of burning sensation, talk to your beautician.

MiraDry Side Effects?

Other side effects may include soreness, swelling, temporary change in sensation, sensitivity, redness, bruising, bumps under the skin, or darkening of the skin. These side effects are temporary and typically go away within a few weeks.
