We can have the most intensive skin routine, avoid the sun and maintain a healthy lifestyle, but eventually aging catches up to all of us. It may start with fine lines around your eyes and mouth that can be easily fixed with a liquid facelift, but eventually something slightly more drastic is needed to maintain that youthful looking face. What if you’re still not ready for a traditional full facelift, but you’ve exhausted all other options to reduce the appearance of aging? There is an option for a slightly less invasive procedure called a mini-facelift – and it can be completed without general anesthesia!
What Is a Mini-Facelift?
A mini-facelift is similar to a full facelift in that it involves tightening the hanging and loose skin on the face. What exactly a mini-facelift is depends on who you’re asking. Most doctors agree that what makes a mini-facelift different is that the scars are shorter. A mini-facelift is better for patients who have a more mild degree of jowling and sagging skin. A mini-facelift uses a less invasive technique performed by a surgeon to tighten up deep facial tissues. The incisions will be placed along the hairline above each ear and/or in the natural creases around the ear.

The Mini Facelift Experience
Generally a mini-facelift can be performed with local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. Talk to your doctor about what the best option for you is. A typical mini-facelift takes around two hours to perform, and recovery takes around one to two weeks. As with any surgery, you will receive post-operative care instructions from your doctor, and you should follow these very carefully to prevent infection or other complications.
An IN OFFICE Mini Facelift has a number of benefits: less overall cost, shorter recovery time, shorter procedure time and less complications.
