Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction surgery carries the highest satisfaction rate of an plastic surgery procedure.  This is because it is not purely a cosmetic procedure.

Benefits of breast reduction surgery include:

  • Decrease back and shoulder pain
  • Decrease bra-strap grooving
  • Easier to buy bras
  • Cheaper to buy bras
  • Less unwanted stares
  • Easier time exercising
  • Decrease rashes and irritation under the breast

Breast Reduction surgery is often covered by insurance and we will help you through the process.  What are the rules for insurance coverage?

  • You must be able to or accept the removal of approximately 500 grams of breast tissue  from each breast.  500 grams is equavalent to the size of a grapefruit.  If you don't meet this criteria, your insurance company will not likely assist with the payment.
  • You must have picture attached to a plastic surgeon's letter.  We can help you with this process.

How long is your recovery after a breast reduction?

  • Most patients are back to work in 1-2 weeks
  • Breasts will not settle completely for up to 6 months
  • Scars will not fade for up to 1 year.
